I graduated in Biomedical Sciences, with a PhD in immunology and pathogenic agents, and post doctor in genetics at the Ribeirão Presto Medical School of the University of São Paulo. Currently, I am a Professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, developing researches integrating cellular and molecular approaches to understand how fungal traits distinguish highly virulent and antifungal-resistant clinical isolates, and how these traits influence hostpathogen interactions and disease outcomes. Our research further contributes to a better understanding of the emergence and persistence of clinically important fungal infections and may support the development of novel strategies for diagnosis, surveillance, and antifungal therapy.
